Unlike the scans performed at your doctor’s office, which are focused on measuring growth or checking for concerns, an elective ultrasound is all about connection.

At Sunbeam Sonogram, we offer 2D, 3D, 4D, 5D/HD designed to let you see your baby in breathtaking detail. These sessions are purely for celebration and keepsake purposes — moments where you can watch your baby yawn, stretch, or even smile before they are born.

These images and video clips become treasured keepsakes, but more importantly, they create a powerful emotional bond between parents, siblings, grandparents, and the newest member of the family.

An ultrasound is a procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of the inside of the body. We call this picture a sonogram. During pregnancy, ultrasounds are used to monitor the growth and development of the baby, check for any abnormalities, and determine the due date. At Sunbeam Sonogram, we use the ultrasound to help you bond with your baby and see them before their arrival day.

 No — your doctor’s ultrasounds are essential for prenatal care. Our sessions are a beautiful complement, not a substitute. All clients must already be under the care of a prenatal healthcare provider. Medical ultrasounds confirm gestational age, evaluate fetal anatomy, and screen for concerns. Our ultrasounds are focused on bonding, offering limited information such as heartbeat, baby’s position, and number of babies. At no point should our scans be used as a replacement for diagnostic ultrasounds ordered by your provider. 

We recommend booking your sessions early to reserve the times you’d like throughout your pregnancy, as appointments fill quickly. Many families enjoy seeing their baby at different stages — around 6 weeks, 14 weeks, 24 weeks, and 38 weeks — though truly, the best time is whenever you feel the desire to bond or be reassured by seeing your little one.

To get the most out of your session, try scheduling your appointment for a time of day when your baby is usually most active. Many moms also find that enjoying a light snack, fruit juice, or something cold beforehand helps encourage baby’s movement — giving you those lively, heartwarming moments on screen.

Yes. Ultrasound has been studied for over 30 years and has shown no evidence of harm when used properly. Like standard 2D ultrasounds, our 3D/4D/5D/HD imaging uses safe sound waves to generate images, never radiation. 8K is a photography program that works with the 3D or 4D images, so does not affect either the mom or baby. We follow all safety guidelines and health standard protocols so you can focus on the joy of connecting with your baby, knowing you are in safe hands. 

Medical ultrasounds are designed to look for measurements and health markers. At Sunbeam Sonogram, your session is private, relaxed, unhurried, and interactive. We create a boutique atmosphere where you can marvel at your baby’s tiny features, watch their movements in real-time, and even invite family and friends to share the joy. When you arrive at Sunbeam Sonogram inside of LUX Spa, our team will welcome you into a relaxing, comfortable spa setting and a studio designed for bonding and enjoyment. Here’s how your experience will unfold:

1. Getting Settled – We’ll invite you to recline comfortably while we position you for the best access with the ultrasound.
    
2. Beginning the Scan – Warmed ultrasound gel is applied, and we’ll start by establishing your baby’s heartbeat and locating their position.
    
3. Capturing the Magic – As we explore, we’ll highlight your baby’s sweet features — face, tiny hands and feet, and ; possibly gender (if you are having a gender reveal ultrasound and wish to know). Along the way, we’ll capture photos and video clips for you.
    
4. Encouraging the Perfect View – Sometimes babies like to curl up or turn away. If needed, we’ll gently encourage movement to help your little one find the best position for viewing. We may ask you to hold your breath, cough, turn on your side or other fun way to get baby to change position.
    
5. Finishing Touches – Once the session is complete, we’ll help you get cleaned up and get you your strip of pictures from the session. You’ll also have the opportunity to select upgrades such as digital packages or add-on keepsakes like heartbeat animals.

 2D Ultrasound
The traditional black-and-white images most parents are familiar with. 2D is wonderful for hearing your baby’s heartbeat, checking position, and seeing basic movements. It provides reassurance and those first glimpses that remind you your little one is growing strong.

3D Ultrasound
This takes ultrasound a step further by showing the surface features of your baby. Suddenly, you can see the curve of a cheek, the button nose, or little fingers tucked under a chin. It transforms flat outlines into lifelike images you can instantly recognize as your baby.

4D Ultrasound
Think of this as “live-action” 3D. Instead of a still image, you’ll watch your baby’s movements in real time — stretching, yawning, sucking their thumb, even flashing a tiny smile. These sessions feel like a movie of your baby’s world before birth, and they create truly unforgettable bonding moments.

5D Ultrasound
Often called “HD Live,” 5D is an advanced version of 4D that uses sophisticated lighting and shading to create even more realistic images. The effect is softer, warmer, and almost photographic, giving you the closest look yet at your baby’s features. It adds depth and richness that feels like you’re peeking into your baby’s world.

8K Ultrasound Upgrade
For families who want the ultimate keepsake, the 8K upgrade provides ultra-high resolution rendering. These images enhance every detail — the curl of a lip, the line of an eyebrow, the softness of baby’s skin — producing heirloom-quality portraits you’ll treasure for a lifetime. This is an AI process made up from several scans during the session. This comes 1 to 3 business days after your session and will be emailed to you.

 We welcome you to bring loved ones — spouses, children, grandparents, or friends — to share in the moment. Our boutique studio can comfortably host several guests besides the momma, so your baby’s “first debut” can be a true shared experience with those closest to you.  

Elective ultrasounds are experiences are an out-of-pocket and considered an investment in memories. We offer services and packages to fit your preferences.

We prefer cash, however do accept credit cards ( We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express) and Venmo. Deposits of 50% down are required to secure your appointment in our online booking portal. Credit cards have a 3.5% service fee. 

If you feel you’ve received exceptional service, gratuities are always appreciated as a thoughtful way to say thank you — but they are never expected. The greatest compliment you can give us is your trust and the joy of sharing these moments with you and a return visit and referral to friends and family (along with a 5 star Google review). 

We recommend wearing something comfortable that allows easy access to your belly without exposing your lower half. Many moms prefer a soft top that can be easily lifted, paired with maternity leggings, so the session feels relaxed and effortless. While loose dresses are an option, they can sometimes feel bulky or shift around when getting onto the ultrasound table.

You will not need to undress, and no areas outside of your belly will be exposed — your comfort and ease are always our top priority.

Staying hydrated is always a good idea in pregnancy, and it can help with clearer ultrasound images.  

• If you’re 10 weeks or earlier → Arrive with a very full bladder. This helps lift the uterus and gives us a clearer view. 
• If you’re over 10 weeks → An empty bladder is usually best for crisp, comfortable images.
   

Want your little one to be active on camera?
Bring along a cold, sweet drink (unless you’ve been advised otherwise for gestational diabetes). Some favorites that work wonders: ❄ chilled orange juice, iced coffee, a slushie, or anything icy and sugary.

Tip: Don’t finish it in the car! Bring your drink with you and sip right before we begin. That’s the best way to encourage baby to wake up, wiggle, and put on a show. Every baby has their own quirks. If you already know a certain snack or drink gets yours moving, feel free to bring it — this is all about making your session as magical as possible.

Your appointment time is reserved especially for you, and given most are 15 minutes or less, being late will not allow us much time to share your baby view with you.  We kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.

• Appointments changed or canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be subject to a 50% fee.
• Missed appointments without notice (no-call/no-show) or appointments that are more than 10 minutes late will be charged 100% of the service fee with the credit card on file.

A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. In the event of a late cancellation or no-show, this deposit will be used to cover the applicable technician's fee. Thank you for understanding — honoring these policies allows us to provide the best possible experience for every guest.

At Sunbeam Sonogram, our ultrasounds are elective and non-diagnostic — designed purely for bonding, joy, and keepsake memories. We do not perform medical evaluations. However, if during your session we notice something that appears unusual or that may benefit from further review, we will respectfully pause the scan and encourage you to follow up promptly with your healthcare provider, or seek urgent care if necessary. We apologize up front that we cannot discuss what it might be, or what we see, as we are not medical providers, and only your medical provider can interpret results.

Your prenatal provider is always the best resource for medical guidance, and our role is to support you with compassion while helping you feel cared for every step of the way.
